Creating brushes in Photoshop
Blenders and other panoramic software use brushes to blend images together. Brushes enable you to blend together images or other layers by _painting_ over the image, or even by using a specific color to paint over selected areas of the image. Painting over an area with a brush allows you to easily remove the unwanted object from the selected area without having to remove or alter the unwanted object itself. Figure 7-7 shows an example of painting over the image with a brush.

But creating Photoshop brushes requires some skill. Photoshop offers some default brushes, but like most other programs, you’re required to explore the standard brushes that come with the program to find the one that you prefer and design your own brushes.
To create your own brush, choose Photoshop’s **Create a Custom Brush** dialog box. Choose the appropriate brush category for your brush design. Figure 7-8 shows the brushes available for both the Brush panel and the Brush Panel Options dialog box. You can choose from thousands of brush shapes and apply colors, brushes, and textures to them.

Right-click on the downloaded file (it should be a.ZIP archive) and choose ‘Extract’ from the menu. Then click on the extracted folder and choose ‘Close’. Click on the newly extracted file again and wait for the auto-unzip process. An icon should appear on the desktop, with the word ‘Ready’ in the bottom left-hand corner. Click on that and an installer window should open. Click on ‘Next’ and click on ‘Install’ again. Follow the steps, read the terms and conditions and hit ‘Accept’ when the installation asks you to. Read the final window carefully and keep accepting the terms and conditions when the install process asks you to. Don’t close the window and don’t click on ‘Finish’ just yet. Instead, go to the desktop and check the status of the installation using the word ‘Ready’ at the bottom left-hand side of the Photoshop Elements window. The French government has closed its airspace to all flights headed for Libya, the latest in a flurry of UN moves to prepare the ground for a no-fly zone in the North African country.

The French president, Nicolas Sarkozy, warned that the French military was prepared to use force to protect the UN resolution and said: «We will use force if necessary to impose a no-fly zone.»
The Italian foreign ministry said it was closely monitoring all developments on the ground. The country sent a frigate and an oil tanker into the Gulf of Sirte, and has several other vessels poised for action.
The British government, which leads Nato military operations on the ground, has said it is prepared to use military force in its response to Libya.
On Monday, it also hit a command and control centre in Tripoli, apparently the headquarters of Gaddafi’s air defences.
The Israeli prime minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, has also warned that Israel was prepared to use military force and political threats to try to halt Libya’s descent into civil war.
But the UN secretary general, Ban Ki-moon, has called on all countries to respect the UN’s decision on Libya and support the «urgent, on-the-ground steps being taken to prevent a bloodbath.»
The UN mission, which has been conducting air strikes against military installations in the country since the weekend, is also drafting a no-fly zone agreement with Libyan opposition groups.
