Elephicon is a GUI wrapper for the PNG2icons app and its purpose is to provide you with a hassle-free way of creating icons for your Windows and macOS apps and projects.

Here’s how it works

Even though it’s quite easy to use, it’s worth noting that the ideal input is a 24-bit PNG with an alpha channel (RGBA) with 1024×1024 pixels. Also, if you’re only interested in generating ICO files, then 256×256 pixels are satisfactory.
Small yet useful Settings section
If you want to tweak the results a bit, press the Alt button on your keyboard, and a typical menubar will appear in the extreme upper part of the app’s minimalist GUI.
You can choose from three quality settings – low, medium, and high, as well tweak the ICO output behavior. For example, you can use the BMP format for the smaller icon sizes, or use the PNG format for each icon in the created ICO file.
How To Install:
Elephicon has a couple of pre-requisites to run smoothly:
• PNG2icons: (Windows only) PNG2icons is the best (and popular) tool to convert any PNG file into a Windows ICO or ICNS file.
• The FreeImage library.
(Mac OS X only) PNG2icons includes its own macOS (OS X) and free library. It is installed automatically during the first run of the app.
• The FreeType library.
(Linux and Windows) To install both PNG2icons and PNG2icons’ free library (used by Elephicon for high-quality output), you just need to enter the folder where it is installed.

Are you using a standard CRC function? If so, there is no «full CRC» mode that sends every data byte, only «partial CRC» modes, where you send a CRC polynomial divisible by a smaller value than the full length of the message.
These «partial CRC» modes can be combined with an «all-or-nothing» mode: if you get less than full length from the source, you send CRC-N, otherwise you send just the last byte. In any of these modes, you cannot send more bits than the full message length.
